Polar HRM Question. HELP!

So... Let me preface this conversation by saying, "Yes, I'm an idiot."
I accidentally washed the sensor for my HRM (Polar ft4). It wasn't attached to the strap, I accidentally left it in the pocket of my shorts after I took it off. Oops.
I haven't used it since the unfortunate incident, but I want to know... Do you think it has a chance at survival?

Yes. There is a rubber ring under the battery cap to help keep moisture out. Heck.. I've used mine in the swimming pool. Chances of survival are high.0
