Is 1380 calories per day too little for a woman to consume each day?

    http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/

play around with this calculator. It takes into account your activity/exercise level, unlike MFP.(so you do not eat your exercise calories back when using scooby)
My guess is 1380 is too low for you considering your age and weight. What is your height?

That sounds a little low to me, but you can earn more by exercising.

When I put your stats in the scooby calculator, using pretty aggressive weight loss options...and using sedentary as your activity level I came up with 1600. In my opinion only eating 1380 even on days you do not exercise is still too low. You want to be able to do this long-term. Whatever you decide to do, its kind of a trial and error thing until you find what works for you. Good luck!

edited to add...MFP over estimates calories burned during exercise. Be reasonable in eating back your exercise calories. For example if MFP says you have burned 1000 calories, I would not eat all of that back.

Thanks so much for your help! I have been really trying to lose weight. I have gotten Combat whey protein from Vitamin Shoppe and that had helped substitute or a meal per day. Do you know if the whey protein at Wal-Mart is just as good as what you get from the vitamin shoppe?

Whey makes you go the bathroom a lot, and not necessarily when you're ready. Not recommended.

I drink Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein. I have no problems with it. I certainly would NOT use soy protein, due to links of breast cancer to soy. I am not sure about the protein at Wal-Mart to be honest. I know when my son was on a tight budget he would get his at Target. I think the big difference may be taste. Protein provides you many benefits with many benefits, just do a Google search and you will see how important it is.
