Lots of walking, squats, and running! I so far have lost 5 inches! I did interval training from a dvd that had the squats in there!0

Overall fat loss. Combined with toning exercises. You can't spot reduce fat, but as you lower your body fat percentage through diet and exercise, focus on targeting your glutes, hammies, and quads. This will help you get leaned, toned thighs0

eat less0

Rollerblading long distances. The leanest my thighs have ever been was when I was rollerblading 15 miles or more a few times a week. Running is also good but the rollerblading was better.0

eat less, lift heavy, squat and lunge with weights, walk lots more0

I've started doing some Squats and Lunge Exercises using Kettlebells.
It's a killer workout, but alongside my Powerwalking and healthier eating, i hope to see some results in a month or so.
Don't forget to take measurements too...so you can easily track your progress.0 -
Cycling has worked for me. 6 miles a day at a relatively vigorous pace.0

Fat loss along with weighted squats, walking, cycling, dancing...0

Lose weight & exercise0

You can't spot reduce. Your body will decide where to drop the weight from.
Having said that, if you lose weight overall, some of it will inevitably come off your thighs. Of course, depending on genetics and your body's shape, it may come off from other places more or faster.0 -

This does it for me as well. Weight loss comes off all over, but these two activities really are the finishing touch for my legs (I store more fat in hips/upper thigh than anywhere else).0 -

Yup.
Doing some kind of strength training will ensure that more of the weight lost is fat, and that less is muscle.
Also, other areas of your body might become "too skinny" before your thighs get to a level you like. It's a balance really. You might need to accept that your thighs will always carry a little extra fat. As women, we need higher levels of body fat than men to be healthy. It's got to go somewhere.0 -
Also, OP, I don't know your stats (height, current weight, goal weight) and I have no idea if this applies to you, but a lot of women are aiming for unrealistic results e.g. 'thigh gap' which the media has popularized. The reality is that most women will never have a thigh gap, no matter how thin they get, because their bodies simply aren't shaped that way. If you knew how much of that was superimposed by Photoshop into models in ad campaigns, you'd stop worrying about it altogether.
Go ahead and lose weight if you're overweight. That's fine. Just don't try to work yourself to a frenzy or drop to an unhealthy weight in pursuit of the mythical thigh gap. It's like chasing a unicorn.0 -

Part of it just depends on your body. I have legs that resemble tree trunks, even when I am at my goal weight (up and down with that). I will never have the lovely, shapely legs I covet. Different exercises tend to bulk me up rather than "lean me out." You need to experiment with all these different suggestions and see what works for you. Ultimately though...my legs are strong, they are healthy and they get me where I need to go, so I am thankful and happy about that above all else.0
