You need to talk to your doctor about this, not strangers on MFP. You could seriously injure yourself if someone here gives you the wrong advice.

All the surgeon has said is no lifting over 20 lbs.. He is not very helpful.. actually he was very rude about losing the 40 lbs... idk what to do :(

Can you talk to your general practitioner? Or maybe see a trainer at the gym? I'm just concerned that if you try exercise that hasn't been approved by your doc you might seriously hurt yourself.

I would focus on diet first and foremost. Watch your sodium intake, make sure to get lots of fiber and protein, and keep your calories within a reasonable range. Drink lots of water. And take walks or do other low-impact activities whenever you can. A brisk walk every evening (or at least 3 or 4 times a week) can really help you with weight loss. You don't have to lift a lot of weights to exercise. But seriously, I would see if you can get either the surgeon or your regular doctor to give you some guidelines. With your surgery, it's goign to be hard for any of us to give you good suggestions with any assurance that it'll be safe. Your safety is the first priority.
