Hey everyone :),

It's kinda hard for me to admit it publicly like this, but for past few weeks I've been stuck with purging almost every day. Started after a huge binge that made me disgusted by myself, but well.. last few days have been kinda terrifying for me because everytime I eat and don't purge, I feel my tummy being really full and I feel physically sick. The area under my jaws got swollen and I'm feeling fainty most of the time :(, I don't want to do that and I do realize it's wrong.
I'm pretty sure there are some of you that gone through something similar, so maybe you can give me some kind of advice as to how to break this circle and how to stop.

Thank you guys, and am sorry for disturbing topic.

Take care everyone :)

You know it's wrong and it's only hurting your body... try to make healthier choices and cut down the portions so your not over eating learn when you feel misrable when you over eat to learn from that feeling not to do it again the next time... Don't purge please

You need to start out by eating smaller meals, and foods that are easy on your belly. N Sit down after you eat and take it easy for a bit. Under your jaw is swollen due to your saliva glands swelling from purging. take it slow- and please no more purging!!! It's SO bad for you-! :( next time u feel you "over-ate" do some cardio instead. Much better for you hun. Hope this helps a bit.

Step one - realizing that what you're doing is unhealthy. Check! :)

Step two - find a doctor and get help. I know it's hard to do and it probably seems impossible right now. Please know that eating disorders don't just go away. You need someone, a professional, to help you through it.

    Please don't wait.

The best path for you to take to reach your goals and to end this cycle is to reach out to those who can help you best. You need to speak to an expert. Check with your insurance company and see if you can find a specialist in your area to help you. You don't need to do this on your own.

Thank you guys very much for all your replies, tho I kinda fear admitting that to anyone close because people here view at this kind of stuff as something disgraceful and disgusting and they just can't accept the fact that it's a mental problem. And well I did try to tell myself NO! and don't do it, but it's hard and it only ended up with me purging even when I don't feel really full.

Now that I wrote it down it really seems like I need some specialist's help :(

Maybe try to eat smaller amounts more often. Don't deny yourself something that you really want, just have a smaller portion of it so that you don't get frustrated and binge on it later. And don't wait until you're really hungry to eat something, try to keep yourself satisfied so you don't overdo it when you start eating.

Do you have friends or family to talk to and act as a support network? If not, you should definitely find a therapist or doctor to work with. Don't wait until the problem gets worse as it will only get infinitely harder to fix the longer it goes on.

You deserve better than to torture your body. Treat your mind, body and spirit with kindness. Maybe try meditating and see if that might help you to cope.

Best of luck sweetie. And don't apologize for "the disturbing topic", you deserve support and encouragement to get through this so don't hesitate to ask for it. If you need another friend, feel free to add me or message me if you need to vent.

DITTO!! The only way to break the cycle is to make a conscious choice to get healthy, and seek professional help. Just like with any illness, it's almost impossible to get well without a trained professional. Please take care!

Hey hun. . I know its tough. I've been dealing with this for many years. . my worst was when even if I only ate tiny bits I would purge on a 700cal diet. The reason you're getting dizzy is becouse your electrolytes are wacky because of purging. Sports drinks will help with that. The poster above was right about your glands being swollen. The only way to get rid of that is by stopping. Smaller healthier meals help me so I dont feel so bad about what I've eaten. That panicked feeling after you eat is tough a for a bit. Take some deep breathes try to calm yourself down. Tell yourself youre ok, the food is healthy, your body needs it. I dont know if you have someone you can be honest with and tell them what youre going thru so u can call them when you feel that way. I know I do and it really helps. I just call tell them to keep me busy for a few minutes and they understand. I wouldn't recomend doing hard cardio cause it just makes u really feel what you have in your stomach but a nice walk is ok. Also becaful of substituting heavy exercise because that could lead to excersise bulimia. Feel free to message of friend me. Good luck.

Try finding something to take your mind off purging and to distract you whenever the urge comes, freerice.com is very distracting to me, it's like a never ending quiz and every correct answer donates 10 grains of rice to the world food programme which is aiming to stop world hunger, so it sort of gives a greater reason.
I've heard some friends say that drinking diet coke or similar stops them purging.
Taking a long bath or shower and pampering yourself in it...all these things are good distractions...as for food, go for a lot of high nutrient but gentle food to replace what you've lost, lots of veggies and protein, and make sure to re-hydrate yourself :)

If you have medical insurance with mental health care, see a psychiatrist, rather than a regular doctor. If you don't have insurance, most therapists will charge a reduced rate for you. In addition to talk therapy, there are medications that can help you control your eating disorder while you learn your triggers and figure out how to cope better. Some of the same drugs that are prescribed for depression and anxiety also work on eating disorders. I've never had an eating disorder myself, so I can't say I know what you are going through, but I do wish you the best. Get help!

ive gone through this, its tough and still go through it ever so often. What has worked for me is going on google and looking up the awful things it can do to your body (on the inside). I know its hard, but binging will only lead to purging, so try your hardest not to, also try writing in a diary and exercise first thing in the morning (it helps your mental health tremendously) and the rest of the day know that you have done your body good and you dont want to reverse that. Keep your head up, AND your not alone! so many of us go through this and it will take time, but dont use that as an excuse, your strong, just by writing this post i know you are ready to end this *hugs*

I pray that you do stop purging! I had a friend who used to do that, and well I hate to tell you, that her husband found her on the floor in the bathroom gurlgling and sputtering. She left him behind along with two beautiful children. I had no idea that she was purging. She kept it hidden from us. It still makes me cry!!

Please go to a dr. , you may have a blockage, or some other sort of physical problem that makes you feel that way.

May God keep his hand on you !

    Gail

ps I learned that if you feel sick to your stomach, put some peppermint oil in your belly button! I did that the other day, when I ate too fast and felt icky, and it worked!!

I suffered from Bulimia for several years. It's a hard circle to break. You need to seek professional help.

Let me tell you what happens to your body that you will never be able to fix unless you stop now.....

Teeth - I have fillings in almost all of my teeth due to the acid erosion of purging.
When I cough, it sounds like I have pneumonia when I'm not sick. The acid that comes back up your throat when you purge eats away at your throat. I have severe scarring.
The swelling that comes to your face from the purging will give you "chipmunk cheeks"....not a pretty sight.

These are just some of the things you will experience unless you stop now and get help. PLEASE!!!
