Hello everyone, I came across an article yesterday about benefits of eating coconut oil. I have to say I am intrigued. I had some coconut oil at home as I bought it some time ago to do my hair mask and decided to give it a go. I have to say I have a problem with eating it straight from the jar (as one of the ways suggested in the article) as it made me really sickly. I wondered if anyone on here is using it and do you find that you are losing body fat?

    Uhh... no... Gross.

I use it in my hair only. It's no different than any other oil.

It's just another fat source. If you like the flavour of coconut then use it in your cooking but it's not a miracle fat loss food.

Use it for cooking instead of butter or oil; I made Butter coffee - brew your coffee, add 1 tsp butter and 1 tbsp coconut oil.
There are different coconut oils there: expeller pressed; extra virgin. It depends if you like coconut flavor or not. Don;t go just by one article, read more. There are tons of recipes using coconut oil. I never ate it straight from the jar though...

I love coconut oil! I use it in substitution for butter when I bake. I also use it for cooking my eggs and chicken. I've used it in my hair a few times. Works great!!! It is def more tasty, and there are some great health benefits also :-)

Takes off waterproof eye makeup too. I have recently been throwing a tablespoon into some of my smoothies. Not because it's got magical weight loss properties, but because my fat intake is woefully low and I am trying to up it.
