My husband and I are 9 years out from weight loss surgery. I lost 150 lbs back then, but started grazing and snacking 2 years ago and gained about 30+ pounds back.
I felt really guilty, like I was betraying the new me and realized if I paid just a little attention to what and how much I was eating and got in some basic exercise, I would feel so much better. So I got back on My Fitness Pal a month ago and with these tiny changes I've lost about 7 lbs. It didn't seem like much to me then I realized it was already a quarter of the weight I wanted to lose.
It's not always easy. But I'm working on making these changes into habits. It's not a diet. It's just a lifestyle. I do my best not to feel deprived and the new found energy I'm getting back is definitely worth it.

Thanks for sharing. I too want to lose about 30 pounds. I lost about 7, then got discouraged and started over eating again. That's a good way to look at it. I'm trying desperately to get back on track now.

You definitely are not alone! I've been struggling with keeping weight off since I had my daughter s couple years ago. I was doing really good before my cancer and surgery earlier this year. Then during that phase I started eating my emotions and put back on the 10 pounds I had lost. So last week, I decided it was time to start over. And now I'm slowly beginning that journey again. I hope I can lose these 20lbs I really need to lose.
