Is it possible to gain weight before you lose?

I'm starting round 2 of my weightloss after reaching half way point. I'm trying to up my carbs (literally brown rice & sweet potatoes - that's it) but strictly sticking to my new macros. I've gained about 3lbs this week. This can't be fat, I know this must be water but will this continue? Will I gain before I lose after introducing brown rice & sweet potatoes back into my diet?!

OP it looks like to me that you think incorporating certain foods to your diet will make you lose weight. This is not the case; calories in, calories out.
It's probably just water weight... you essentially answered your own question.0 -
