Are you doing this for yourself or others?

I set out to do it on my own. I think it was my way of proving to myself that I care enough about me to do this.

But you're not alone... there are something like 1 million plus people on MFP doing the same thing :) I understand, though, I'm in this alone, too. But I kind of prefer it that way because if I fail, it's my fault and I'll learn from it. But when I succeed, it's my success, and that is really sweet.

Do you know what's really awesome? When you do it alone for months or years at a time but then people begin noticing and imitating you and what you are doing. You have the chance to make better decisions for yourself and along the way, you may be influencing others, all without saying a word.

You definitely have to want it for yourself, but it can be massively motivating to have someone pushing through with you. Try finding a buddy in the forums! I've found a few, and one in particular has been incredibly motivating (and I like to think I'm helpful to her, too!). Having someone to be accountable to, to champion you, to push you, and to celebrate your successes and help you work past the tough parts... it's a huge help. So make sure you're doing it for you, and then reach out on MFP if there's no one in your personal network that can be there for you! Feel free to add me if you think it'd be helpful. :)
