Thanks all for the info, ya new to this area... literally 2600 miles away from where I grew up, so yes I could find some friends but that's also hard for a 30 yr old man that works 50+hrs a week and has a family, advice taken and tons of work to be done now... so far love this app0

I've been wondering about how I'm doing nutritionally...despite being successful at shedding pounds on a modified low carb diet. Yesterday I made an appointment to meet with a nutritionist to review several weeks of my MFP diaries and to discuss my goals (lose 30 more pounds, reduce cholesterol, lower blood sugar ) and to make sure that what I'm doing is sustainable and healthy for the long term. It's expensive, and my insurance won't pay, but I think it will be enlightening.0

Yep, not beyond pimping my fledgling website. It's not 100% complete but it is up and running. 10 years in the biz, email or pm me if you'd like.-1 -
What questions do you have specifically?0

Nutritionists aren't well respected in this field. They will probably tell you your low carb diet is wrong. Most people who go around doing a little research no more than nutritionists. A lot of people are passionate about this field. I wanted to help myself and others with their weight, i was obese most of my life. I personally decided to major in biochemistry. There are many people who have a good basic understanding about nutrition. There are also many who keep up to date with the new research coming out. A lot of read scientific journals. A nutritionist doesn't do that. They just stick to what they where taught, they have a cookie cutter meal plan, their approach isn't flexible.
A dietician is better than a nutritionist.
Or not. Sometimes they are the same thing. We aren't all from the U.S. Where I am the titles are interchangeable and have the exact same requirements.0
