WAYYYYYYY OFF TRACK

So, I've had a really rough week. Last Saturday, my wallet with all my money was stolen, my step dad was put in the hospital and we were told they have to amputate his foot. Yesterday my mom was put in the hospital. I am so off track, I did not exercise at all until today, and probably would not have gone today if I didn't have an appointment with the trainer. I am going to try to get back on track but it's hard cause now I feel like I don't want to do it, but I know I have to. Working out today I felt like I just started. I was so out of breath. I kept slipping on the treadmill. It was terrible. As overweight as I am, I cannot afford to fall at the gym on the treadmill, so I just left. I am so frustrated.

First of all I think you could maybe cut yourself some slack. You have a lot going on personally and of course you are under extra stress because of that.
I have been very off track lately, eating things I don't normally eat (and don't even really like anymore) at binge level. Today is a new day. I can't un-eat what I've eaten or exercise when I didn't, I can only change what I do from this point forward. I took my dog for a long walk this morning, I am going to the grocery store to buy healthy food, I am starting over today.
You can do it, too! Try not to be frustrated, be kind to yourself, and just take it a day at a time or a meal at a time and get back on track.

Feel free to add me if you need support or encouragement! :o)

Life happens and I think we all know its not how many times you fall but how many you times you get back up again. Hang in there and keep trying. You can do it!

Don't worry. Stress can be a big calorie burner. I went through a very rough patch in my life where I was suffering with severe stress. It wasn't until I came out the other side and started piling on the weight that I realised just how much the stress was keeping my weight down. Concentrate on you and your family for a while and then when you're feeling up to it then start again. No-one says you MUST carry on regardless. Do whatever you can cope with in such a difficult time. Just don't use it as an excuse to suddenly start eating everything in sight and spoil the hard work you've done so far. Concentrate on maintaining in hard times rather than still losing. And remember to try and keep smiling :-) I hope you get through your difficult time quickly xxx

You will feel better if you get a little exercise, even a walk around the hospital will help. It's amazing what healthy eating will do for you, too. Sugar, caffeine makes you feel yucky.

I'm sure you will be spending time at the hospital. Your family will be grateful for you at this time. You are loved and needed. It will be okay.

I think one day at a time is excellent advice. :flowerforyou:

Its really hard to stay on track during tough times but have to try and remember that eating bad food and not exercising will not make the tough times any better. In fact it can make you fell worse because on top of whatever the problems are, you start beating yourself up for not making good choices. Plus you start feeling physically like crap.

Don't try to be absolutely perfect. Instead of going for the candy bar, try a granola bar. Choose water instead of soda. Walk around the hospital, stand up instead sitting, whatever you can do to be moving and engaging muscles.

When you are at the gym and you feel like you are struggling too much then slow down. You are better off at a slower pace (or less reps, or lighter weights) and keeping going, rather than giving up and not doing it all.

You can do this... if you really want it. Be strong!
