Weighing the same on an evening as I do on a morning

This is a bit random and I know in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter, I was just curious about why it happened.
Up until recently I weighed 2-3lb more on a night before I went to bed than I did in the morning. But for the past couple of months I've weighed the same on a night as I do on the morning.
Is there a reason for this or is it just random like everything else the scales do? :P

Why are you weighing twice a day? seems a little obsessive and pretty pointless. Anyway it's just random your weight cab vary +- 5 pounds most days it'll just be luck it's the same number0

This happened to me last night. This morning the scales shown a 2lbs loss

Happened to me a few weeks back and then returned to normal. Nothing to worry about.0

Sure it's just for curiosity but even if you don't go the bathroom you will usually lose a tiny amount overnight due to breathing in dry air and exhaling moist air. Add a pee in there and you are usually 1-2 pounds lighter in the morning0

Stop weighing yourself that often because it can get to be a weird habit.
Focus on how you feel and how you look.0 -
If I ever do that, it is because I let myself get dehydrated.0

I find this whole process to be obsessive, constantly counting calories, thinking about food etc! But yes I know I shouldn't do it.
I wonder if maybe I am dehydrated and that's why if I weigh myself last thing then again first thing the next morning I weigh the same?0 -

I would say there was water retention somewhere. That or waste has not been empty yet.

thank you - I started exercising again about 3 weeks ago, weight-lifting etc - so might it be DOMS or water retention relating to that?
Again I know there's no exact science and that the scales are a load of rubbish!0 -
It's not the process that is obsessive.0

I totally get the curiosity, and don't find it obsessive. Its not like she is freaking out over it or saying she's doing it every day. I would also find it a bit curious if I weighed the same at night as the morning, as that is not typical. I've never seen it happen to me. I sometimes go a full week without weighing, and sometimes step on a scale four times in a day. I like data and find it amusing to see the fluctuations. I don't think that qualifies as obsessive or unhealthy.0

that's it, I'm just interested to see the fluctuations - it doesn't freak me out but I would like to understand what's going on!! Haha.0

Data.
Calorie counting can be obsessive. Many things can be obsessive.
Or they can be sources of data, and help you gain knowledge and perspective.0 -
Yes, I just want some knowledge and perspective I know it sounds obsessive but I'm not making life defining decisions based on these numbers x0

Maybe it is the scale? It might be new battery time, if you have one like that.0

It might be something as simple as a shift in the time(s) for your normal bowel movements too... It's not "random" per se, but little fluctuations can sometimes coincide to appear to be a pattern, when there isn't one.0
