Nah. I'm on the computer all the time and when I'm not, I have my phone on me, so logging stuff isn't a big deal. I get tired of working out though. Cuz I'm lazy.

NO I dont get tired of it.. When I first started this I would pop on and off and not record anything.. I starting noticing peoples comments and weight loss. So I decided to record everything I eat. Before wasn't really paying attention but then last week I decided to give it an honest effort. BEFORE I would eat something I checked the calorie count and W-O-W I was surprised at some of the stuff.. Now I record everything and I find its better because if you don't you will go over your calories. I am proud to say I have lost 6.6 pounds this week (my first week) I haven't done any exercising yet due to fatigue ( extremely low vitamin counts) I know its only been a week BUT I am logging everything and know its better for me to do so. Goos luck and enjoy the site.

I don't log in any more i am eating more healthy and know portion size. logging was stressing me out finding the foods in the data base or adding new ones. Just don't need the added stress not going to count calories my whloe life. Just like to log weight and check out the threads.

I don't mind it, don't always log online most days though. I'm old skool and write mine down in a little memo book. Starting doing this when I first made a commitment to lose weight back in 2004.

The biggest thing for me and I'm still guilty of this are overdoing portions. Every once in a while I stall, get a reality check, then realize I need to check the food scale or get out my tablespoon.

I actually enjoy logging my food. MFP is the only site that I found that makes it easy to log. It has become of my daily routine. Logging has definitely kept me on track:bigsmile:

I've learned portions and about what's right to eat, but I still love seeing the numbers and what it actually is, even though I think I would do just fine without it now.

tbh-it gets tedious trying to log everything. but i find when i dont do it, i fall off the wagon so to speak. when i log, im much more aware of what im eating and my portion sizes. in all of the times ive tried to lose weight, this is the first time ive ever tried logging (thanks to my friend summer who gave me the link to this super helpful and awesome site!) and this time i think its actually working.

Sometimes. But you know what I get tired of even more? Being fat and unhealthy.

Seriously, I love logging because it keeps me in control. It's the opposite of stress for me.

    Same here!

Nope, I love logging. Seriously.
This! Me too! I find it like a game, a puzzle of sorts to fit all the pieces (ratios) in each day to be my healthiest.

I like to know what's going in my body, when I've not logged, I can roughly guess to some extent but I much prefer keeping a log.

I'm starting to get tired of it lol but I do have a notebook where I write it all down, then at the end of the day I put it all in and hope I have not gone over, I do pretty well most days

I've only been doing this for 10 days and the whole thing is quite a novelty for me still. I'm sure I may get bored but there's a competitive side of me that thinks 'YES!!' when I log my food and exercise and I'm under. It makes me feel in control in a way I haven't felt in terms of food and exercise before.
The way I see it, most of us will still be on the computer for the number of minutes it takes to log, we'd just be looking at shoes we can't afford or spending ten more minutes on facebook  At least this is useful computer time!

Yep I often feel that way. I "allowed" myself to stop logging the rest of my day yesterday and it was a great relief. I may or may not do the same today and tomorrow. I believe intuitive eating is possible and I believe all of us can eventually move on and just eat normally without thinking too hard about calories and such. But I'm not quite ready yet. And part of me still somehow enjoys the OCD of it, as much as I hate it too.

If you're really tired of it, give yourself a break and don't log for a few days. It doesn't mean you need to fly off the handle food-wise. And then maybe you can come back to it, feeling refreshed.

When dieting in the past, I always tracked every single thing that I ate, and achieved exactly the same success as I'm gaining here. For me, logging works, period. The only difference was that I was logging my food as I ate it on a daily sheet that I used to carry round with me.

The bonus of logging on this site is the nutritional information that's logged too. Plus of course it's so quick and easy to log food on the Android app, I whip my phone out, few taps and it's logged.

Reason that's important is that unlike other times when I've lost weight, this time I'm going to carry on logging my food when I'm on maintenance. It's a habit now and not at all cumbersome and I think it's the only way that I am going to prevent myself from eating too much again when I'm at the weight I want to be.

I used to be supppper obsessed with logging on here after every single food/bite/meal and reading tons of threads to keep me motivated. Around 2/3 weeks ago, I've now gotten to the point of logging just once or twice a day and reading the boards only if I'm in the mood to. Originally, logging and reading threads constantly, helped to keep my mentality in it. Thankfully I've reached the point now where I keep myself accountable without having to log into here 100 times a day. LOL

Now it just feels like a regular thing that I do and it's just a normal part of my life. So, at this point, I'm fine with logging a couple times a day and grateful that I'm able to do so while still keeping my eating habits in check. :)

Edit: When I log once or twice a day, it does include everything I've eaten or will eat that day. It's just that, previously, I used to log everything in increments.

The iPhone app makes is so damn easy, it is almost second nature...my deal is that I plan on logging every day until I am at my goal weight and then maybe I will take the training wheels off...if my weight strays, I will leash myself back in with MFP and an electric cattle prod (well, maybe just MFP)

No,I am not in the least bit tired of it - I really like it, I like to be able to plan my food for the day so I know what I can eat and then when I burn calories, I can add things to my meals through exercise calories - I have been doing it for about 120 days - I missed one day (well, I logged in, but it was after midnight) and it drive me up the wall that my number of days logged in only says 70! EEK!

No, I actually really like it. The app for my phone makes it super easy to check stuff and log my food when I am out. Logging has really taught me to look at what I am eating and make better decisions. In the past I would look at the nutritional info for stuff and think so is 5g of x good or bad? Now I know what I should be eating for the whole day and it makes perfect sense to me :-)

    Good luck!

It can be a pain to log my food. I started with WW and hated the program. From March - May I didn't log my foods and ended up back around my starting weight. This past week I starting logging religiously and I am down 5+ pounds. If I were to stop logging now then I would probably gain the weight back and wouldn't be able to lose.

Some people have more self control and can estimate calories really well. I on the other hand would take a huge scoop of something not realizing it was 2+ servings and not think twice about it. Counting calories and weighing my foods is helping tremendously. I am assuming in the next few months - maybe even a year - I will have a better understanding of portion size and control and won't need a website but for now I do.

If you think you can do it without logging then kudos to you!

Yes and No. It's now turning in to a bit of an obsession now though.

I tend to log my food for the next day when I'm making my dinner and snacks for work the night before, pick what I'm going to have for tea etc, that way I do most of the logging at once and all I have to do is log my drinks and any extras. I find this helpful because if I feel a little hungry during the day I know if I've got the flexibility in my remaining caloriewithout having to sacrifice anything later on in the day
