Victory and defeat

I had a nightmare last night so I slept poorly and when I woke up late I just wasn't feeling like running. After 30 minutes of screwing around I called in sick to work and hit the road. My daughter caught me as I got to the door "how long are you going to run Daddy?" I thought about it a moment and said "maybe an hour". So I ran but I was upset about my early defeat at the scale which I will mention again in a bit. I decided that I'd just run 30 minutes and at my halfway point I was actually a minute and a half behind schedule, so I decided just to run the hour plus I noticed my heart rate was too slow on my hrm. I started running harder out of pure anger at myself. At the 20 minute mark I ran into cyclists and I realized how competitive I was as I caught myself trying to keep up (like I could). At my 1 hour run halfway mark I was 2 minutes ahead so I kept running. I made it back to my road and decided to sprint and I did awesome. VICTORY!

Now for my Defeat. I know this sounds silly and i know once told people to run the marathon but that scale is my bane this week. I typically check my weight 3 times a week and see consistent loss. 207 last week Saturday 209 by monday and 208 today I want my weight loss back. I updated my goals and I'm eating 70 less calories a day per mfp. I need the motivation. HELP!

You are halfway through your weightloss goal. The closer you get the harder it will be to lose the weight. Be patient with yourself. You're also gaining muscle, water weight fluctuates and so forth. And at the end of the day, don't worry too much about the numbers. Our bodies are complicated and things aren't ever as straight forward as we'd like them to be. Stick to it, stop shaming and guilting yourself over things you don't control, and enjoy your life.

This was well put. Also, keep in mind that sleep is an ESSENTIAL part of weight loss and a healthy life. If you aren't sleeping well, you are functioning at a high enough level to lose - give it a week and try to get some good shut eye and drink plenty of water. You are doing an awesome job so far - keep it up!!!

The funny thing is I know you're right, I'm just having a low moment.

Even though you know it sometimes it helps to hear it. You are doing great. Don't let those numbers get you down. And congrats on the run sounds like you had an amazing run.
