Help me to convince my husband that MFP WORKS! :)

My hubby just joined MFP but he doesn't really believe in tracking calories yet, so I'm on a quest to prove to him it really works and I need the help of all of you to manage it. If MFP is vital or helped you in your weight loss journey somehow, please send a friend request to my husband with a note saying how many pounds you lost with the help of MFP.
He's aware of all this craziness, so don't worry about flooding him with friend requests.
He's not believing in the power of this app, let's prove him wrong, LOL.

He's still learning how to use the app, he doesn't know how to browse through the forums yet, but I tought this would be a fun way of also getting him some friends in MFP while he is still figuring out calorie tracking and the macronutrients. Friends have been essential in my own journey, so I think he will be even more inspired once he starts seeing the progress and success of other people in his newsfeed.

Actually the one consistent message on all diets is that tracking works. Not just because you look at calories but because you become mindful of what you are eating. All diets make you track and note how you feel about food and hunger0

Why not just get him to educate himself about cico and apply some common sense? MFP is just a tool that helps you understand and control the amount of calories you consume. How can he not get that?0

Hey,
I was browsing the forums and I came across your wife's post.
Does counting calories and tracking everything work? Well it does for me. I started on MFP almost a year ago when I was 49. I am 5'6 and was 240 lbs. Here I am today at 160 lbs, that is 80 pounds lost, and honestly the hardest thing was getting used to logging everything I ate, and being totally honest about it. Yes it is a pain when you start, but like everything else it becomes a habit, and since your wife is doing it too, it will make it easier.
And the most important thing to remember is the weight did not go on in a day and it will not come off fast either. If you are averaging about a 5 pound weight loss a month you are doing good.

I want you to understand my husband is a very kind and intelligent man who was bullied in his childhood and teenagehood due to his weight. Like any other person who has been in this kind of situation, he has tried many diets and theories to lose weight, some unsuccessfully and others successfully at first but later regained the weight back. Therefore, he became skeptical and lost hope about ever losing weight for good. By being his wife I know that, as of right now, he will be more motivated and will want to give MFP a try if some MFP fellows reach out and tell him about their success. I'm the kind of person who gets motivated by reading about the technical aspects of a theory and how exactly it will work and succeed when put into action, but he is the kind of person who gets motivated by seeing other people's success and getting encouragement. From there, he will be motivated and inspired enough to learn everything there is to know about CICO and we all know what comes after that: a successful weight loss journey.
I want to thank everybody who took their time to add him, he's getting more and more excited about MFP and adopting a healthy lifestyle, I have never seem him this optimistic about losing weight. This is why I love this fantastic community!0
