Hello!

I was just wondering if just taking a protein shake for lunch is good for losing weight.

I work 2nd shift 3pm-12am or 1am. Wake up at 11am cook lunch for my family then workout...after i workout i just take a protein shake for lunch and shower then back to work...but sometimes when im at work i make a quesadilla or a salad or pasta and that will be my last big meal then when i get home i have a little snack or sometimes nothing...

Thanks in advance!

Really your overall intake is what is going to make or break a weight loss goal. But if you are asking if a protein shake is a good meal replacement/ a good way to get nutrition in a busy schedule, then yes would be my answer :)

Eating in a calorie deficit is how you lose weight. If a shake helps you remain in that deficit, then have it (though I prefer actual food).

Yes, it is good for weight loss. I have protein shakes (meal replacement) for breakfast and it's made a huge difference in my weight loss. The best part is it keeps me full from breakfast to lunch. Just make sure you don't get one that is super high in calories and you may have to try a few before you find one you like.

If you're still stuck after two weeks (if you haven't already been) I would calculate your TDEE on an external source (plenty out there, message me if you want suggestions) and then using that to calculate a deficit (500 cal deficit is what you should aim for). :)

Personally, a protein shake works for me. I have it for breakfast sometimes. But I usually have it with a piece of fruit or veggies since I like having something to chew on.

But it all depends on what works for you.
