Hi! I'm using MFP to (right now) try to maintain my weight and slowly gain weight and muscle to be strong and healthy again. I'm recovering from an eating disorder and really struggling with finding foods to meet my cal goal. I'd love if anyone with positive vibes and who wont mind leaving some supportive comments to add me! Is anyone on here facing a similar situation?

I too am in recovery from an ED...I "graduated" from residential treatment about two years ago and still struggle everyday. I just started this app about a week ago because I needed something to keep me accountable to a healthy target. I can see very plainly in front of me if I am restricting or bingeing. That being said...it is also a very tricky road because calorie counting can easily lead back into old patterns. I just have to be very honest with myself and my intentions. But I know we can rock this and kick ED's butt :)

I know exactly how you feel! I'm apprehensive about counting cals again because I dont want to reinforce the ED mindset but without reminders and tracking nutrition I hardly eat enough because of the lack of hunger cues. Its a vicious cycle! I'm glad youre able to be so honest and aware with it though :) Adding you now!

I have been in recovery for 2 years now. I can relate to these same issues and I am looking for people to motivate me as I would them. I think that counting calories is hard because it reminds me of my ed but at the same time it holds me accountable. I have also been through residential recently and found it gave me the boost I needed. So it would be great to have anyone to work with.
