My name is Sandy. Was once fit as a fiddle, teaching 10 fitness classes a week; that was 32 years ago! Now, I'm 90 pounds heavier. Am very uncomfortable with my size and unhappy with my weight. I start a "diet" and usually quit, finding many reasons to postpone the start or good reasons to cheat and "fix it" tomorrow. Can't get motivated to exercise and I have an entire gym in my house that only my husband uses. Decided to lose at least 50 pounds by September 2015, starting in January. Again, I kept putting it off and off and off. I've lose 10 pounds! I need to look better for my son's wedding. Wish I had a coach on my back all the time or someone to be accountable to! Any suggestions

Hi Sandy, I would advise you to get into a routine and stick to it. Pick a time of day, the same time every day for excercise. The best time to excercise to loose weight is first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, only have water. That way your body burns off your fat reserves. Start with just 20min moderate excercise and build up over several weeks to 30 min vigorous excercise. Jogging and then running is a great way to loose weight. Stick with it, don't be tempted to miss a routine. That coupled with a healthy diet will help you loose weight and achieve your goals. Keep a record and reward yourself every so often. You can do it! Good luck! Keep us updated with progress!0

At my heaviest, I was 100 pounds overweight. You know how most doctors berate and lecture fat people? My gynecologist always said, "try to lose 30 pounds by next year." She is realistic. My advice is for you to be realistic; make small goals, celebrate when you meet them, and then make your next small goal. It's easier to stay on track when you don't have an overwhelming mountain in front of you.
You can do it!!!! It's 5/18. Aim for 8 pounds gone by the end of June and then celebrate here with us.0 -
Thank you both for the suggestions and encouragement. I get the small goals, the schedule, etc as I once was a fitness instructor; it's just as I've aged, its hard to get motivated anymore. It's frustrating!
