Random fact about me: I'm full of random, "useless" information. And I can prove why 1+1=2, the pythagorean theorem, and that the square root of 2 is irrational.

Sounds a lot like google if you ask me!

Me too. Of course it was after I'd beaten it with a stick and thrown rocks at for an hour, so I don't hold a grudge :-)

Lol. I don't think I did that but I was curious to see what was going on there, so I went super close to it. But I do hold a grudge. Haha. I am still scared of them!!

When I was 5 I begged my mom to let me go with her, I was told to stay with Grandoa and my sister Katie. The car accident killed my mom, my sister Becky and my aunt, my dad and grandma survived. I consider myself lucky.

At 17 I drunkenly went car surfing. We hit 25 and my friend turned the car, I rode the asphalt the rest of the way. Other than some scrapes I was uninjured.

My 11 yo daughter Rebecca Constance was named for my mom and sister.

Oh and these were the ones I was comfortable mentioning so no sympathy.

heres a random fact about me: i got beat up by a 92 year old in a nursing home..
I've been beat up FAR more often and far worse by little old ladies in hospitals than I ever did by healthy young men in fights. Nursing is like rodeo; it's not IF you get hurt, it's WHEN and how bad.

this is true! So is EMS...Ive been stuck in the back with psych patients who were prefectly "cooperative" until we started going...then decided they didnt want to be in the ambulance anymore. Thats always fun. I also had a LOL try to bite me Thursday when I went to give her her Lovenox. I suppose I cant blame her simce she gave me warning and I thought she was kidding.:ohwell:

When I was 11-14 I woke up everynight around 3 or 4am feeling sweaty and sick to my stomach. When I started crying from being so tired and irritated with feeling sick my mom slapped me and told me to get over it. Despite the gastroenterologist saying that it was an ulcer, my parents INSISTED I was getting sick because they split up. When I was 10. (I was glad they did- 2 bedrooms? double the christmas? less of the fighting? sounded awesome....) SO they sent me twice a week to a psychiatrist and put my on Prozac (when it was the popular drug and they were prescribing it like candy)--- and I was like a walking zombie for the 3 years they made me take it.

I also tore my meniscus during a track meet...I was the shortest hurdeler (but was pretty fast!) and a runner from the other team hit the hurdle as the race started so it was crooked...I didnt see it until I was midair and tried to compensate...I caught my foot on the hurdle and heard a "pop"...but I finished the race and still came in 2nd. After that though, I couldnt bend of straighten my knee for 3 weeks. The doc told me I was too young so he didnt want me to do surgery to fix it in case I grew more. Well I havent grown since 6th grade and now I still have knee problems.:grumble:

I have never been stabbed, shot at, beaten up, seriously ill or injured, sucked up by a tornado or in a natural disaster of any kind. The only people in my family who have died have been elderly.

This thread has made me realise that I'm incredibly lucky.

I can bend my left thumb backwards and touch my wrist with it... Seriously, that's the only interesting thing about me.

Oh, and the only time I ever got sent to the principal's office it was because my little brother bit me.

Weird genealogy facts: I'm the great great great etc grandniece of both Adams presidents, great great etc granddaughter of John Alden, married (loosely) into the Coors (beer) family and I'm 1/16th Bannock Indian through my dad, who has red hair, freckles and the prominent Native American nose. My paternal grandfather's photo is on display at the Smithsonian as an "iconic" fighter pilot.

Weird medical facts: When I was 4-8, I would be randomly crippled by chronic toxic synovitis. I was one of the <5% of children affected that were female. I was a regional level USS swimmer and ended up having both knees scoped at 14 due to the stress of the repeated opposing forces/torque from squeezing my upper legs together to complete the breaststroke kick and the resistance of the water pushing out on my lower legs (swimming = therapeutic... bwahaha). I was born without secondary laterals. I have a "cat eye" pupil from some minor head trauma that I didn't even notice until 2 weeks later while applying mascara. I am one of the 12% of American women who successfully breastfed a full year.

Weird lifepath choices: I went to catholic schools from K-Sophmore year; we moved out of state to an upscale area but the public school did not believe in skipping grades so I aced my GED without ever studying and started college at 16. I decided I missed my highschool sweetheart too much 8 months later and my parents let me move 1100 miles back to live with him (still 16). By 19, I decided to enlist in the Marine Corps; ASVAB QT score in the 94th %, top 10% in boot camp, top 5% in Marine Combat Training, rifle & pistol sharpshooter, 2nd in coed Combat Water Survival Course with 60% attrition rate. Survived being kidnapped, being restrained to a bed and beaten to the point of broken bones by my former squad leader who I decided to date. Later was assigned to run sex-offender registration, CODIS violent offender program and victim/witness notifications at the brig. Retired at 25 and living off my 80% disability from the VA.

So yeah, not one huge thing really stands out, but I have a ton of random shtuff that makes me pretty darn unique & special :)
