It's harder as I get older

I've come back to MFP as I have put on a stone in weight and I'm really struggling to lose it. As I get older I find its so much harder to lose it even tho I exercise regularly.
Would be nice to meet people who are struggling too.

I agree with you.
Have lost a stone so far since jan, but the older you get the harder it is , even with diet and exercise .
Feel free to add me if you wish!0 -
Probably a guy thing but I find it easier as I get older.
Probably due to the joy of experience and knowing what works and what doesn't for myself.
If following MFP recommendations don't seem to be working? Try working out your Basal Metabolic Rate, whack 500 calories onto it and then go with it for 4 weeks, adjust as necessary.
This may not be the best formula, but as an example:
BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) - 5 * age(y) + 5 (men)
BMR = 10 * weight(kg) + 6.25 * height(cm) - 5 * age(y) - 161 (women)
And if it's still not working? You're most definitely not logging meticulously enough.0 -
Wow a stone is impressive! Well done, any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I do agree I think men do lose weight easier...so frustrating! #stupidmen lol0 -
Well, I'm older and slower of metabolism and fattier.... hooray for middle age. blah. It's very hard to stick to 1200 cal and yet get some exercise.... but try not sticking to it, and no weight is lost! >:( It really shouldn't be this hard. But it is. I'm doomed to never get rid of those last few pounds it seems.0

Regarding the title...
Carry on.
Perhaps an adjustment or change up of exercise. And being very detailed and extra strict on measuring food/calories in.Good luck!

I agree, I am really trying to watch what I eat and exercise, and I think I have lost and gained back the same 1-5 pounds repeatedly.0

Never give up. I gain and lose like crazy and I have no idea how it happens0
