trying hard to control what I eat and how much, so I am planning ahead for next week. some days I have 60 calories remaining , and others around 300 calories.

maybe days with 60 calories remaining I can workout ?

My calorie goal is 1,270 calories a day, I will most likely snack throughout the day, or I'm thinking some lara bars or a smoothie to get my calories up. I really want to get back in the gym for the summer, just because I miss it.

with such a low calorie goal i would try to get as close to it as possible. u can work out whenever u want, just only eat back half the calories earned.

You can still work out if you do not eat all of your calories.

I hope you do not live on "900" calories minus the exercise calories but only once in a blue moon.. this would be bad over a period of time and you may not be able to work out if you get ill from not eating right...

By all means, work out any time you have the time, energy and motivation because you want to because you want activity to become as natural and vital part of your life as brushing your teeth, or eating! If you're 300 calories "under" I would still exercise, but I'd all food to bring my energy up, at least to the point you've covered the calories burned. It's ok once in awhile to be under the calorie target, particularly if there are days in the 7 day cycle where you go over your allotment. Remember, there are many reasons besides expending calories that we need to exercise: to tone and stretch our muscles, to keep flexibility, to gain strength, to boost our endorphins, oxygenate our circulatory system, to stave off depression AND diabetes and yes, even to have some fun and appreciate the blessing of movement. Don't deprive yourself of these exercise perks just because you have eaten lightly for a day or so..... It will all work out if you keep tracking and enjoy your work-outs!
