Hello! My name is Donna and I started using Fitness Pal last week and so far it is working for me. I don't have a lot to lose but have been playing with the same 10-15 pounds for years. My cholesterol is high and I hope that losing those lbs will show improvement at my next physical. Both parents had diabetes and although I do not have it yet, want to keep it that way. I am learning to make better choices through Fitness Pal.

Hi, I am new here. I have been working out eating right and losing for a couple of months. Oh, I am 68 and have dropped 29 pounds since 3/19. I too have the last ten to go but it should be pretty easy. Anyway, I mostly wanted to suggest niacin for your cholesterol. Get the non-flushing and start with 500 mg per day. If you have no problem, try upping it to 1000. Statins were developed as a substitute for niacin. It works as well as medicine. Good luck.0

Thanks for the tip...will give it a try. I do not currently take medication for high cholesterol because when I did take them, affected liver enzymes. I always look for alternatives to medications.0
