what do you guys do when you hear the vino call?
I've been buying the mini 1 glass bottles but seems pointless?
My problem isn't the wine per se more all the treats to go with it.
Any tips much appreciated

Moderation... easier said than done.
Portion out the cheese/crackers, etc. on your own individual plate instead of chowing down from a community platter.0 -

I have wine every nite with dinner. I calculate that into my days calories.0

Make it fit! Franzia has at least 3 kinds between 95 (Chianti. lowest I have found)) and 105 per 5oz glass.0

I save calories during the week so I can splurge on wine or cocktails at the weekend. Aside from that, I buy lower-calorie alcohol -- Franzia is good for low-cal wine (I know, I know), and Smirnoff makes a line of light flavored vodkas. On Saturday I'll do a 5K or longer walk/jog early in the day, plan my meals to be light, and use exercise calories + banked calories to indulge in my drink of choice. This usually gives me an allotment of a couple thousand calories, so I have more than enough room both for booze and for booze-snacks.0

I only imbibe on the weekends (unless there is a special occasion) and eat lower calories during the week to enjoy my weekend glasses of wine. Sadly, I've had to give up most of (not all) my cheese and crackers because I can't work both in to my calorie goals.
I disagree with those suggesting going the cheap wine route to save a few calories. If I'm going to work hard to make room for wine in my diet, I'm going to enjoy the best wine I can afford. Life is too short to drink crap wine.0 -

Most nights I have wine with dinner, and a "few" extra glasses on the weekends. But, I don't feel the need to eat treats just because I have wine. Wine is the treat. ::drinker::0

Uuugh, I love wine. I love alcohol. Period.
I always think about fitting it in to my calories but then get afraid that I'll start craving junk after a few drinks and as we all know alcohol can cause bad judgment for some people. I really only drink now when I go out to dinner with friends or family, so that's about 2-3 times a month.0 -
I have wine every night, I just measure it, log it, and earn it through exercising. I drink mine with dinner though, so no temptation from crackers and cheese, etc.0

I try to only drink wine or beer on the weekend. I hear you on the munchies- I portion out some almonds if I'm having a pre dinner glass.0

I exercise to drink beer. I have one almost every night. I'm a craft beer aficionado: exploring different brews is enjoyable and satisfies my need to have a little adventure in my diet.
This is sitting in my cellar but I need to wait until I've got a lot of kcal to spare:

I usually go with the "weekend only" rule and only drink with friends so that it feels like a special treat. I'm more likely to be good throughout the week if I know I'm saving up for an excellent dinner an drinks on Saturday with friends.0

I drink wine pretty much every night. 1 glass, sometimes 2. I do usually wait till after dinner, after I get the kids to bed, when I'm finally ready to "sit down" for the day. 2 glasses is about 250 cals. That's like a 15 minute walk. Not that difficult to work into my calories for the day.0

I like wine and beer. I'm a home brewer and make wine, beer, mead, and cheese. One glass of alcohol a day is good for you, but you don't want to slip into addiction. Cheese has allot of unsaturated fat, but low carbs. Now they say unsaturated fat is not that bad for you. It is difficult to filter through all the information out there, especially when corporate profit margins are priority. I guess the best way is to add it to your daily intake and adjust accordingly. Exercise more, eat less of something else, that is what I am doing and it seems to work for me.0
