It's basically a laxative.0

Why don't you just try eating some chicken and fresh vegetables instead? Crazy, I know.0

I do eat clean but it is meant to be good for ibs and not just weight loss0

Sarah - you've opened a real Pandora's box here and you're about to hear from a lot of folks- some who might not come across as very nice. But what they (almost) all have in common is that they have been successful at meeting and maintaining their fitness and weight goals. Many have done so for years. Also, they care and want others to succeed.
Given that your goals say you have 40+ pounds to go and it looks like you're just getting started, what you're mostly going to hear is this
Bad news
There is no magic or quick fix
Good news
You don't have to buy anything. You have everything you need right here, for free, including an amazing community of supportive and knowledgeable people.
All you need to do is eat fewer calories than you burn. The tools here on MFP at your fingertips will help you do that if you use them.0 -

I hope you logged that.0 -
If you wouldn't abuse laxatives for weight loss, don't buy detox tea.0

Your body detoxes all by itself.0

Thanks for a polite response.
I have already lost 3 stone so I know I must be heading in the right direction and im confident im eating well.
I have been advised to take this by a few people but im not convinced - I was more looking from an ibs perspective. My change in diet has greatly improved this but have the odd issue.
My friend is all up for trying it and im just asking and wondered if anyone had a negative effect from it - more to add to the discussion I had with her as I know discussion will continue.
I ignore the sarcasm from some - a simple question as I haven't came on to advocate it0 -
It's a laxative. It's going to give you diarrhea. And probably stomach cramps.0

A stimulant laxative? Good for IBS? hmm. I'm doubting that.0 -

There is one bootea thread per week. Use the search function or just google it.
Hell just copy and paste this into the google query bar; bootea site:myfitnesspal.com0 -

I had to explain this one to a coworker. She made the right call and decided not to waste her money on fancy laxatives that'll make her lose temporary water weight, not to mention control of her bowels.0
