I have my moments like crazy sometimes. I usually switch it up and it kicks my butt into gear. Add a exercise routine, change my eating around, get some new clothes or equipment, whatever I need to do to keep moving forward! The pounds creep off me slower than molasses, so I need to do that every now and then or else id set myself up for failure. Which is NOT a option!0 -

Remember how much better you feel when you eat right and exercise.. more energy and if you have any before/after pics, take a look at them and remind yourself how great you felt! Think about your goals and why you began this journey in the first place!
Good luck to you!0 -
The alternative..Not exercising, not eating right leads to a body destruction and self loathing, not a chance I will want to leep that lifestyle up.0

I guess it depends on what is causing you to quit. Sometimes, taking a day or two off is enough. But if the reasons are because of depression or negative influence from outside sources, try to understand where the negative influence is coming from and deal with it accordingly.
Revisiting your goals and motivating reasons for losing weight are good things to do, too.0 -
I'm at that point right now. I haven't lost any weight in a few weeks and it's cause I have lost motivation and slacked off. I joined a new gym that has some zumba and kickboxing classes. I'm hoping that helps. Its an uphill battle sometimes. But I keep on trucking.0

I find it helpful to hit the grocery store to stock up on fresh fruit and veggies that I know I will enjoy eating. I also like to look through the "success stories" section on here. It's really inspiring, especially when you're looking at someone who's been going at it for 8 or 12 or 18 months. You can SEE the difference on them, and it reminds me that if I keep at it, I'll eventually get there.0

I think about how much better I feel and how much easier it will be to get moving later when it's gotten 50% better in a very short time.0

I have my FAT picture posted as my screensaver on my computer and my phone wallpaper! THATS MOTIVATION ENOUGH TO NEVER WANNA LOOK BACK!0

Look at some of those other folks at the gym....the ones who look svelte and sexy. That's the motivation I need when I'm at the gym to push a bit harder!0

I've never felt like I wanted to absolutely quit. I remember what got me started on this journey and its poignancy was something that hasn't faded. I've enjoyed too much that has come as a reward of what I've started to go back to the way I was. What got me started down this path came in trying on a pair of fishing waders that had fit snugly the prior year that no longer fit last year. At that moment I knew absolutely that I was not going to continue buying larger and larger clothes for the rest of my life. I set small goals like drinking enough water, eating a certain number of fruits and veggies each day, gradually bringing my caloric intake down, still enjoying my favorite foods in smaller portions, and so on.
I think one of the primary goals is that I don't deprive myself of anything. I have tried doing no sweets, no fast food, and other such things only to find myself meeting the goals and then going on crazy binges after. Instead, I allow myself the things my body wants, but in reasonable portions..
You can quit a diet, but you can't quit a lifestyle change.0 -
I set a goal for just ONE day. For example, I am going to eat clean on Monday. I then plan my meals, get groceries, and follow through. Once I am finished for the day, the meals tasted so good, I often wonder why I ever ate junk food in the first place. Then it's easy to get back on track.
You can set a goal for 1 workout or maybe increase your water for one day. == just set ONE quick goal and follow through. Before you know it, you'll be back on track.0 -

Thanks! It does help a bunch just to hear other people's stories and how they kept going. I am currently just getting back in the game after two weeks. I just couldn't let myself let go so easy. I am going to give it another go and pray for the best that I'll go all the way this time. Also I am only 17 and still a sophomore in HS, young I know. But I want to catch this while I am young:flowerforyou:
Keep em' coming guys!0
