Hey all I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and have put on a massive 3 stone 9lbs. I was on the Cambridge diet before so put it on fast when I started eating again. Today I've decided I can't get any fatter so need to start using MFP again properly.
Any kind of help, tips, motivation would be greatly appreciated as I seem to just want to eat chocolate and crappy foods which I never ate before I got pregnant.

Hello, Congratulations! I have never been pregnant but I guess eating healthy (lots of fruits and veggies) could be the way to go. Try to limit your chocolate intake maybe you can say you only eat chocolate on Tuesdays when you pre-buy what you gonna have (not massive amounts) and on that day you enjoy that with balancing your overall intake with healthy options. That way you can control it better.0

Don't worry. ..I did the same. ..After baby is born you can lose the weight by being disciplined and using mfp! !!!! Just don't eat for two lol..congratulations a new life and new lifestyle! !!!0

I guess it's normal to gain 30-50 lbs during pregnancy. Eat nutrient-dense foods and keep some room for cravings lol.
Congratulations!0 -

Yeah good idea. My partner suggested having a cheat meal once a week. I've spent the day making loads of meals to put in the freezer for when baby is here. All low calorie so I have no excuse when he arrives. I didn't even eat chocolate before now it's all I want..... and chicken nuggets Thanks for your reply0

Did you find it easy to lose weight after baby was born? People have told me it's harder to lose when you've had the baby and I'm scared because I have a lot of weddings, christenings and a pre planned holiday coming up but I'm the size of a small country and my self confidence is already low0

Thank you very much. I was half a stone off my goal weight when I got pregnant now I'm back where I started. Sorry to sound stupid but what are nutrient dense foods?0

Try not to worry. I ate pretty healthily and exercised in all three of my pregnancies and I still gained loads of weight. I had easy pregnancies and labours and healthy babies, so that's what matters, and I lost the weight after the first two and am losing the rest after number 3 at the moment. After my 2nd I lost all the baby weight and more and ended up thinner than I'd been before.
I wouldn't recommend doing something like the cambridge diet again, just eat healthily, stick to your calorie deficit, and exercise.
Until your baby is here see if you can go for some walks, and try to substitute chocolate for fruit. Maybe get something like frozen yogurt for a sweet treat. I always found I craved sweet stuff right at the end of my pregnancies, and my third was due last Easter Sun (although ended up 11 days overdue) so I did give in to some Easter choc!0 -
My bump isn't massive but I'm beginning to count my chins now and my bingo wings are expanding. It's horrible and I've decided I cannot gain anymore weight.
No I won't be doing the Cambridge again it cost me £60 a week and I ate nothing but powder for over 2 months. Didn't have a social life at all. I've bought exercise dvds because the nearest gym is half an hour away and obviously ill have a baby soon.
I've been eating fruit and still manage to get some chocolate. Ah god help me if it was easter at this stage I'd be buying the shops out of eggs. Luckily there are no shops near me so I have to drive 10 minutes to the nearest one making it more of an effort to eat chocolate so I'm going to stop going round to my mums where she keeps all sorts for her grandkids.
Thank you for taking the time to reply0 -
25 to 35 pounds
Ask your health care provider how much weight you should gain. A woman who was average weight before getting pregnant should gain 25 to 35 pounds after becoming pregnant. Underweight women should gain 28 to 40 pounds. And overweight women may need to gain only 15 to 25 pounds during pregnancy.0 -
Jeeez I've gained way too much but I thought I had. I was supposed to easy my self back into eating after doing the Cambridge diet but I couldn't as I had to stop using their products as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I have a feeling I'm going to really struggle to lose it all.0

Foods with a lot of vitamins and minerals, less of empty calories. Also, when my friend got pregnant last year, her gynaecologist referred her to the clinic nutritionist and they told her what to eat and what to avoid for her health and that of the fetus. She gained minimal weight (about 25 lbs), but that was kind of a side effect of eating well lol.0 -
Ah so fruit and veg etc.ah I should have done that lol bit late for me though0
