Gained weight while taking medicine

I had to take antibiotics (2g per day/normally you take 1g) and gained almost 8 kg and my waist circumference almost !!doubled!! even though I threw up everything I ate for 3 weeks. I've succeeded to get rid off 4 kg but my waist circumference stayed the same

Has anybody ever experienced something like this? If you did please help

    I take anti-anxiety medicine (who doesn't these days) and I think that causes weight gain.

    I was on mirtazipine and put on about 3 stone :(
