Thanks to couch to 5k on the ipod I ran my very first 5km race yesterday for charity and raised nearly £400!

I would never have been able to do it without MFP and C25K.

My time was 33 mins 12 secs - 26 secs faster than my PB in training.

Yay!

Well done!!! I'm going to start C25k after another 30 pounds or so and I'm really looking forward to the day when I can say I've run 5k!

Congratulations. I did my first 5K in March (but not nearly as good of a time as yours) and I've since done another one. I still don't really enjoy running, but I enjoy the accomplishment of raising money for a good cause and achieving a goal I set for myself. You should be very proud too!

    WOO!
  • Congratulations. I finished the running the AirLife Memorial Run\Walk here in Colorado this morning. This the first run event I have ever attempted. I ran the entire 5k without stopping. Another C2k5 success. At the end I sprinted towards the finish line but could not catch the girl running in the banana costume. :)

    Next goal 10k

conrgratulations!!! now try and do it in 20 mins or less...to give you an idea the world record is about 15 mins i think.

20 mins or less is benchmark for many football clubs during team tryouts...its verychallenging.

Thanks everyone - I think I'll set my next goal to get it under 30 mins! On the run I did, the record for a woman is 16.28 and it's 15.47 for the men - so yeah, I'm a long way off yet. Still hate running - although I must admit, it's the only thing that has tones up the saggy, flabby horrible bits round my knees!
