Anyone find that when they use a sugar substitute that their appetite increases dramatically? I had Truvia a few times times this week and I was beyond ravenous at times, which is crazy. I exercised and ate less calories last week and was completely satiated.

    Oddly, I'm the opposite!

Haven't the slightest idea why though, for either of us!

I've heard that this is a side effect of artificial sweeteners, but it's never happened to me.

Nope. I use Truvia in my plain Greek yogurt, and drink diet soda every evening. Never had that happen to me.

interesting, perhaps there may be something else- I really don't have very much- mybe 1/2 teaspoon per day, at most

I also have heard that some people experience this. I don't. I find if I am craving for whatever reason, a diet pop will deal with it.

I'm not that way at all. I find that diet pop, for example, helps satisfy my sweet tooth if I'm out of calories.

I have that problem with artificial sweeteners. They also cause some unpleasant tummy problems for me. Truvia is not a pure stevia product but contains artificial sweeteners. I switched to "Sweet Leaf" that only has stevia and fiber, no chemical sweeteners or sugar alcohols. The tummy problems and the increase in appetite where not an issue with a product where the stevia was the only source of sweetness. Read labels carefully.
