Logging Steps Question

I'm a teacher and I walk about 9,000 steps a day, just at school. I own an old school clip on pedometer that I wear daily. I don't think it's accurate to say that I walked at a slow pace of 2.0 mph from 8:30-2:45. Is there a way to log in steps without calling it an exercise. It seems like that's how people have been doing it with higher tech fitness trackers.

I'm happy with my clip on pedometer, I just don't know how to log those steps, since there is no account associated with it. Like I said, I don't want to log it as walking 2.0 miles an hour for 7 hours.

I try not to have my phone keep track because its so draining on my battery and the phone is big enough it doesn't fit very well in my pockets.

Since it's actually part of your daily activity, it should be included in your activity level and not as exercise. Those of us who use activity trackers, we generally have our level set lower (sedentary or lightly active) and it adds on once we surpass that threshold.
