Hey guys I recently started to do some strength training but it seems like MFP doesn't recognize it the same way it does cardio. It doesn't post it in my news feed or give me credit for calories burned. Am I missing something?

Nope - it just doesn't work. I use bodyspace (by bodybuilding.com) to track my strength training workouts. I don't eat back calories burned while exercising, so it doesn't matter to me. The app is great though for tracking workouts, and I think you can track calories on it too.

Search for 'weight lifting' in the exercise section, and then enter your time. It doesn't calculate calories if you enter the lifts separately.

You can enter it as cardio, the point is most people dont enter lifting because the calorie burns are so low and difficult to caclulcate. Think about it a lot of the time you are resting and its really very short intense periods of lifting.

Add "Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)" to Cardiovascular to get estimated Calories Burned added to your Diary. Please note that the Calories burned for Cardiovascular exercises provided by MFP are based on published metabolic equivalent of tasks (METs), which are estimates for a general population and may differ for you as an individual. If desired, add individual strength training exercises, such as "Biceps Curl," to Strength Training to have a log of sets, reps, and weights as individual exercises.
