Hi
I am beyond frustrated with my weight. I weigh now more than I ever did before. I want to loose 60lb but I don't know where to start. I have all the resources but I don't know what to do. Please help.

Start simple. One thing at a time or it's easy to be overwhelmed. Add friends from the communities it helps.

Start slowly! Do not set your calorie goal to something that makes you miserable and want to quit everyday. This is a marathon and not a sprint to see how quickly you can lose the weight.

Try to walk everyday for 20 minutes and as you get fitter and that seems easy add in other exercises that you enjoy and some strength training. Every 4-6 weeks, set new exercise goals for yourself. For example, being able to walk around the block without being winded, completing 10 pushups, riding a bike for 20 minutes, trying a new activity that you haven't done before or in a long time.

Log all of your food that you are eating everyday for a couple of weeks and then evaluate to see what changes that you can make that you can live with for now. For example, maybe eating a whole candy bar after lunch and dinner maybe you could eat a few Hershey's kisses to get the taste of dessert but saving yourself 200-300 calories everyday. Or, cutting back on pop slowly by adding more water into your day.

Weigh all of your food and log everything!

Keep a motivation journal with pictures of your journey, your measurements (chest, arms, waist, hips, and thighs are common measurements), and fitness goals. When you feel yourself feeling frustrated by lack of progress it is always good to look back and see what you have accomplished to renew your dedication to your goals.

Most importantly, do not compare your weight loss to others! You may lose more than some people and others may lose more than you and that is OK because you are still losing weight and working towards your goals.
