Just had lunch, a ham sandwich with wholemeal bread, planning a bean stir fry for dinner with black bean stir fry sauce! To be honest i'm feeling a bit down so might just have to add a choclate muffin or bar of dairy milk!!

  • I get that way all the time. Eat some fresh fruit salad instead. At least it is healthier for you.

The odd treat now and then won't hurt :-)
  • Sometimes its easier to just give in once in a while.I have found if ya dont ya have lots of other things whilst trying not to ahve that choccy bar and end up having a hell of a lot more cals than if you had just given in to your needs!!Just dont dont do it a lot lol everything is ok in moderation!!Sometimes we all need a treat hun x

Any chance you can take a walk with a small ice cream instead? A cornetto enigma is only 180 calories and you'd burn half of those walking. Plus the sunshine should improve your mood

How about HALF of a chocolate muffin. Throw the other half away right away (putting dish soap on it prevents you from digging through the trash later :grumble: ) Then enjoy every little tiny morsel, not letting any slip away.

Sounds like a great day! I have learned, in my case at least. If I have a craving then I need to eat it or I will become obsessed and binge. So if you want that chocolate muffin go for it and don't feel guilty. Just get back on the band wagon after. Good luck and enjoy!

ok for myself as a rule i dont deny myself everything completely. . as I find I crave it more & am more at risk of having a binge . . i am on a calorie counting diet & if i have a day where i fancy chocolate then I have it . .i just include those calories within the calories for that day . it is ok dont beat yourself up about it after all we are only human . . ..you have to be realistic about dieting . .Hope this has helped & you have a good day :o)

This is exactly what I do too! I think it's all part of the learning experience of MFP. If I want chocolate/wine then I cut calories elsewhere and I'm beginning to learn that old adage; "Everything in moderation!". I've found some great low cal products too that mean I can actually eat a higher volume of food and remain within my target! I've had a hot chocolate, 2 sandwiches and a prawn salad and a packet of crisps for lunch and still only half-way through today's calories! Don't give up hope and yes, treat yourself every so often!!! : )
