I'm new to this app but I'm trying to figure out why when I add exercises with reps and weight, it doesn't update any calories.

You have to search it under cardio. Take it with a grain of salt. I've never used/eaten back weight training calories.0

MFP doesn't really do much about tracking weight training, but unless the workout is more of an interval/circuit type thing with lighter weights and more repetitions, there isn't much to do about it either. The actual lifting doesn't burn much, the main expenditure is afterwards when the body is repairing and building muscle tissue, and marginally an overall raised basic metabolic rate due to supporting more muscles.0
