Low Impact Cardio

Can anyone recommend some good low impact cardio excercises that dont require a machine for when my calfs hurt and i cant do treadmill?

I know. I've lived out in the country all alone, and now I'm in the inner city. But I remember walking or riding my bike down miles of country road at sunset alongside the corn fields with amish buggies trotting by and it was just...breath taking.0 -
Maybe some audio books would help pass the time walking...

Take up photography as a hobby. Gives you a great excuse to walk a lot and to appreciate the same old scenery under different lighting conditions, to compose interesting shots, etc.0

Riding a bicycle is great exercise. Of course, you have to have a bicycle, but in some areas you can rent one, if you don't want to buy one.0

Try podcasts. There's bound to be a topic you're interested in. It's like Talk radio tailored to you without a billion commercials for Lipitor or some other stupid crap.

Download some great music
But most importantly stop making excuses0 -
I can only do low-impact cardio at the moment. In addition to walking, when I go to the gym I use the bicycle, stairclimber, or sometimes the elliptical.0
