Having trouble with belly fat

Hi all,
So I started becoming serious about losing weight last April. I was using a fitness app on another platform and I was nearly 250 lbs. Right now I am 215 (loss of nearly 35lbs), but I have only lost around 5 pounds since January.
My main concern is the fat around my belly and thighs...especially my belly. I have lost weight all around the body but theres still that huge middle I am having trouble with, and even though I have lost weight I look very unsightly with all that fat on my 5'7 body. It just looks very uneven. Plus I have only gone down like 1-2 waist sizes (more like 1.5)
I do interval training regularly which is what is mostly recommended. Are there any other tips out there? Thanks.

I am having the same issue so I am interested in what others have to say. I have lost 20 lbs but my belly is the same.0

Watch what you're eating VERY closely...Belly fat (which I still have plenty of) is the LAST to go...so it hip/thigh fat...we tend to hold onto that fat till the LAST. Fun huh? lol But belly fat is almost 90% nutrition...it's what you're eating... How are you dong with breads, sugar and dairy? Try eating less of those and MORE fish and green beans, asparagus, etc...and keep doing those intervals!! :-)0

A flat belly starts in the kitchen! (that's what the experts always say). My advice is to eat as many whole foods (non processed) each day.
Unfortunately you can't spot-target fat burning, it requires overall loss to go down in the belly area. That's just where you happen to store fat (I'm the same way).0 -
Mine has gone down some with zumba but I won't know for sure how much until I'm measured on Wednesday. I'll keep ya posted!0

Bumping, cuz I'd really like to see what people say on this. Same issue here.0

Generally speaking the belly fat is the last to go, or so it seems, maybe kick up your cardio some more if your walking or running on the treadmill, use the incline,it burns more calories. Cut down on some carbs so that you don't feel bloated.0

I am 3months into my diet and exercise,,I have lost 20 lbs and still have my tummy, butt and thighs,,while the rest is slowly melting away..and it makes buying clothes a challenge ,,they are to big in the waist to fit the lower tummy and thighs..But the largest areas is the last to go...depressing when we want it gone first,,,I am doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred,,she does exercises that focuses on those areas,,she also has a trouble area video,,you may want to look in to those...they are helping me in some of my areas..
Good Luck to you...0 -
RUNNING AND HIGH IINTESITY INTRAVAL TRAINING...0

I agree with increasing cardio and watching carbs. Other things that have helped me is increasing my cardio to at least 45-60 minutes each session. I also keep my sugar near 50g a day and my sodium is set to 1500, but I am normally between 600-1000. Good luck!!0

Hi Ive lost 29lbs and altho Ive lost 6" of my middle, it, as every one else says, is the last to go. Try Jillian Michaels routines, the 30 day shred is probably a good place to start. Its the best out of all the routines Ive tried and Ive tried a few. It's hard but enjoyable and she is incredibly motivational.
Try taking a long hard look at your belly rather than the scales. I tell u for why. I had like this shadow above and in front my hip, thats gone now. I also looked at my self naked and made a mental note (and a photo) to see how I looked rather than what the scale said.
Stick with it.
PS Before I posted this and spell checked it, where I typed scales, I typed scakes first, jeze guess Im just a cakaholic deep down. "Hi my name is Sarah and Im addicted to cakes"   :laugh:0 -

Thank you all for the responses! I will admit my nutrition hasn't been the best. Have given up on red meat but can't seem to let go of breads (even though I usually just stick to wheat breads or brown rice). Seems like more veggies and fruits are the order of the day.
I run almost every morning so I know I'm working out there at least.0
