Fell off the wagon.

Alright, so I've fallen off the wagon and gained about 1stn of what I lost. So I've joined the gym and I have my induction on Thursday. I've never been to the gym before, and really have no idea where to start (other than knowing that I want to use the treadmill). Has anyone got any tips/advice? Thanks.

Hopefully at your induction they'll introduce you to the weights and machines.... Resistance training would be my biggest suggestion! Can you afford training sessions - they might be a good place to start if you really have no idea

If you wanna do weight trying check out bodybuilding.com. Put in your goals and level of experience and a hole list of work out will pop up for you a great way to start0

Thanks
I definitely can't afford a personal trainer.
The first area of focus for me is my tummy & hips, it's where all my weight goes! I only know the treadmill will help with this because running did!0 -
Worst thing about belly fat your best best is to just eat clean. Ab work outs basically just condition your abs. It's my biggest down fall in the last two years. Cardio, ab workouts and clean eating will be the best for tummy fat0

Losing fat is determined by your deficit and macro breakdown (to some extent), not what exercise you do... Cardio helps create a bigger deficit, but for body composition I'd go weights over cardio every time0 -

I definitely haven't been clean eating lately that's for sure, which is why I've gained 1stn back... All on my tummy!
It's so hard getting back on track though & it's took me almost 2 month to find some sort of motivation.
Today is a new day though & I'm feeling determined. Clean eating is defiantly back on the cards!0 -
Agreed turn that fat into muscle. It's not always what scale says but what the measure ments say. Since I quit cardio to an extent my body fat % has dropped crazy with heavy lifting and clean eatinglivingleanlivingclean wrote: »Thanks

You can't turn fat in to muscle... I wish!
"clean" eating isn't necessary either. Make nutrient dense choices most of the time, but you don't need to deprive yourself of certain foods. Just stay in your deficit...0 -
Well either way - I love healthily eating and that can't be bad for me0
