A few questions...

Hi! So I've lost 100 pounds and I know I really need to start adding in more strength conditioning and lifting, but I'm clueless on where to start. I've always lifted a little, and did the lifting circuit machines at the gym, but that's it. Any advice would be appreciated!

Does anyone know any type of activity bracelet like the FitBit that actually is accurate with calorie counting? That's really all I want it for, but none that I've researched are that accurate with calories, so I thought I'd ask!

What kind of strength training were you looking at doing? There is New Rules of lifting for women, Strong lifts (this is the one I do), Starting strength. Each is pretty good in their own right.

I have the Fitbit charge and I find that the TDEE on the Fitbit is pretty close to most of the online calculators that I've tried. It won't take into account calories burned while weight lifting but will show active minutes and extra calories burned on cardio days.

I'll definitely look into the Fitbit charge! Thank you :)

And I'll have to look into both of those, I really know nothing when it comes to strength training lol I really need to educate myself.

I learned most of what I know about strength training from diagrams on pintrest, following bikini competitors on instagram (like @buffbunny @sarahbowmar) and watching YouTube videos that the bikini competitors make. I also paid for a few sessions with a trainer to make sure I had proper form.

Bodybuilding.com also has a data base full of exercises and a number of "beginner routines" that you can check out. They have a video with almost every exercise that shows what the proper form should look like.

I lost the weight and have maintained for ten months thanks to Fitbit + MFP. Your Fitbit burn is TDEE—way more accurate than any online calculator.

You can learn more in the Fitbit Users group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users
