hard to make a living in the fitness industry?

Sooooo I've been into working out for over 4 years and I've seen from a lot of people and heard it's hard to make a living being in the fitness industry! I'm currently majoring in OT bc I love seeing the changes in children's lives as well as I do in people and there bodys. But all though you might not do it as a job in life it's a lifestyle that you live no matter what job you will have. It's something you should be happy to go do every day and enjoy so meet the right people join the right gym and make this healthy lifestyle your lifestyle because it's only yourself your hurting in the end (:

It can be. You're constantly turning over clientele, having to get new clientele and the economy TOTALLY impacts your income. When the housing debacle happened, I lost a lot of income.
But I love my job. I may have to end up supplementing it if I decide to go back to working full time though because I personally don't think I can spend 8 hours in the gym training people and then doing my own workout later.

Yeah I agree! I feel like unless your training a celebrity or are a fitness model yourself your not going to get a comfortable living! I also use to work in a gym making protien shakes and being in a gym all day and then needed to do my 2 hour workout make me not want to sometimes bc I was just there all day! It's hard I would really love to bc it's my first thing in life I love but I've seen so many people struggle so many gyms open and close it's a tough industry! But one that needs to get America in the right path, another plan of mine in the future is to open a healthy fast food place been planning it for years!
