Just found out I am pregnant and am having trouble figuring out how many calories I should be "shooting" for. I know I only need to add about 300 per day, but add 300 to what? My 1200 I'm currently eating? or onto something larger? I always eat any calories I burn with exercise, but I just don't know what is best or right...help!?

Talk to your OBGYN. She'll know what's healthiest for you at this time.

    And, Congratulations! :o)

Just found out I am pregnant too. I entered my starting weight and that I am aiming to gain .5 pounds per week to set a daily calorie goal. That puts me at just under 20 pound to gain with what is left of my pregnancy which is the guidline for people at my starting weight. Of course, ask your doctor, but that is the plan I intend to follow until my appointment in a couple of weeks.

    Congrats!!!

I think adding 300 calories to your daily goal is great, depending on what your weight goals are. I'm also pregnant, and I'm just trying to maintain my current weight (overweight before I got pregnant, I'm 17 weeks and have already gained nine pounds! :noway: ) So when I registered with fitnesspal, I put in my current weight and activity level, and then simply put my goal as maintenance. Then, according to my midwife's advice, added 300 calories. HTH, and congratulations!
