taking a weekend off mfp - the results.........

I posted on here on Friday saying that I was considering taking the weekend off mfp and starting afresh today. Well I did just that and something amazing transpired....... I didnt feel good!!!!! Yes it was nice for the couple of minutes that I ate a chocolate bar and again when I had some chips but for the most part I felt really rubbish.... lethargic, disappointed in myself and strangely without purpose. It dawned on me that I used to feel like this all the time!!
I woke up this morning actually feeling relieved that I dont have to be that person anymore who feels out of control. I have the choice to be the person who wakes up every morning feeling healthy and proud of myself for being on a journey which is making me the person I want to be!
I'm sure I'm going to have lots more days where I struggle a bit but I am determined to remember how I felt this weekend as I gobbled down any food I felt like...... horrible. I dont want or need to be that person anymore. Now I feel more determined than ever! Here's to the last 25 pounds.....

Good for you on making a great decision not to take any more time off. Don't deprive youself completely (I have pizza almost every Friday) but just make concious decisions about what you are doing.
YOU are in control of yourself.
Good luck!!0 -
Yes, definitely remember this!!! I've been eating really well for about ten days now, and then yesterday I slacked and had some jelly beans and chocolate buttons with my daughter while we were watching a movie. My stomach did not like it! I felt all crampy and bloated. No more junk for me! Our bodies definitely seem to like it when we eat good, wholesome, nutritious foods.0

Wow that is amazing! What is great is that you recongnized that is how you used to feel all the time and you don't have to be that way anymore! What a great NSV!0

I know how you feel. While I still logged everything I ate, I didn't stay within my calories yesterday, and ate whatever I wanted. I felt so sick afterwards. I can't do that anymore, I need to stay focus everyday. I dont wanna feel that yucky again.0

Good for you with keeping with this. I have a cheat day once a week, usually just one of my meals. But you need to so you don't go crazy.0

I allow "cheats" too but I really do find I don't want them nearly as much anymore. And then I'm the same way - I don't feel good after. I had a chocolate bar a while ago after monthes without - got sick to my stomach. Fast food - instant cramps. Still love love love cheesecake - belly ache after - but that one is worth the discomfort, however just a little bit is enough of a taste to satisfy my cravings. It's a wonderful realization to make I think. I'm sure half of the cravings are mental and knowing they make me feel sick sure helps to avoid them.0

Sunday is my "free" day. The only day without restriction, but I do log every stinking calorie lol. I usually go over, but I have a senna tea laxative (only once per week) and that usually takes care of a multitude of sins.
Best of luck to you in your weight-loss goals.0 -
Good For you. It is hard to allow ourselves the occasional treats, but sometimes those times are what helps us get to where we need to be yet in control. Congratulations and great weight loss record todate!0
