Last year when i started my diet i was 192lbs in less than 5 months i got down to 164lbs great shape was feeling great i started playing basketball and dislocated my should i still have pain in my arm and neck do to this injury, couldn't do anything, i try to run a few times to maintain but the pain was to much on April 29 this year i decided that it was enough i had to do something with myself instead of watching TV and eating popcorn and feeling sorry for myself and that it was time to overcome this injury now that the doctors couldn't do anything for me only put me in profile. I went to the gym on the 29 April this year and i weight 202lbs i was shock and didn't believed what happen to me i let myself do it again i started working out that same day and now my shoulder feels just a litle better and i have lost 10lbs so far since April 29 2011 to 23 May 2011. Now i have set my goals to get back down to 164lbs like i was before i now is going to be a test but that's my goal and im looking forward to this. I decided to come here to this site and share this with those that have had simular expierences, just keep track on the calories you eat no matter what beacuse is really easy to put the weight back and is even harder to get it off now look at me now suffering to get back down. I will keep everyone posted on my progress thank you for your time everyone. Any comments please go ahead i will like to see what everyone has to say

Yep, you are quite right, gaining weight back is the easy part, simply do nothing. Getting back in shape on the other hand requires dedication and an attitude of "I can do this and I deserve this". Been up and down the weight ladder myself and it really becomes a philosophy of doing it right on a daily basis. In other words, set as a goal that TODAY you will do such and such (eat better, exercise, whatever) and then the rest will follow. One step at a time, one step. Good luck

Thank so much for the reply. yes the first 2 weeks in the gym were the hardest 2 weeks i wanted to jog for and hours but instead i had to settle with walking beacuse i was so out of shape but now i'm starting to get the energy level up and feeling good of myself that i'm able to do much better now than a few weeks back and is a great feeling. Now i can jog the 1 hour no problem.

Think about incorporating overhead press, bench press and barbell rows into your routine. START VERY LIGHT, just the 45lb bar and make sure your form is PERFECT. These exercises will help rehab your shoulder and strengthen the muscles around it. I have a bum shoulder too, and these exercises have helped out a lot.

    Welcome and good luck!

Welcome soldier boy!!! Love me some soldiers...anyway....glad to hear that you are getting it all back together. It all happens to us so you keep your chin up and watch out for the shoulder. It takes time for these things to heal! Best wishes!!
