Polar H7 Question

Hello everyone
I've done a search through the forums, but I can't quite find the answer I am after, I think.
Let me break it down simple: (mostly for me
)
I am looking to get a Polar H7.
I currently use a Fitbit Flex (don't really want to change that either).
I see that MFP will link with Polar Flow.
I have been told by Polar that I can use the H7 on its own (without a wrist unit), and that it will sync with a phone (I have an iPhone 6 so that's fine).
Now is there an app for the H7, or will it sync with Polar Flow (I had a look at the app in the App Store and it says "This app is a companion for the Polar Loop, Polar A300, Polar M400 and Polar V800" which to me says that it doesn't sync with Polar Flow). I've read through a couple posts and seen that MFP doesn't (yet) sync with Polar Beat.
Basically I want to be able to monitor my heart rate, and have it sync up with my other data (if that's possible). So if I log a workout in MFP, say I run on the treadmill for 20 minutes, it takes the running information and the heart rate information into account when it calculates calories burnt and such.
Am I making sense? Or is this all nonsense and I'm crazy. Is there another option I'm unaware of for heart rate monitoring?
Thanks
S
**Note** I don't want to get a Charge HR, I like the Flex because I can wear it around my ankle as I play netball and we can't have watches/wrist things on, and I wear wrist straps at the gym so it would get in the way.

I was told by Polar that the H7 uses the Polar Beat only. I did not know that MFP doesn't synch with Polar Beat.
I'm going to be receiving my A300 with an H7 on Friday. If you don't have an answer by the weekend, I'll be able to give you one as to whether or not the H7 transfers over to Polar Flow.0 -

That would be super helpful! Thank you!0 -
I have/had an H7. When it worked it was awesome. It connects to your phone via the polar Beat app. Then you get the digifit app that reads the data from the polar app and then syncs with MFP. Sounds complicated but it isn't. The digifit app also gives a lot of info about the details of your workout. That's the good. The bad is that it doesn't stay connected or is hard to connect. Spending ten minutes to get the H7 to connect to my phone before working out or it dropping during is not my idea of a good product. I have since bought a vivosmart and use a HR monitor from an old Garmin watch and am much happier. The Garmin app syncs to MFP very well.0

I have an H7 as well, and I have never experienced it dropping out. I have a Nexus 6, and it's been perfectly responsive and reliable during my workouts, and that is while my phone is also connected to my Android Wear device and a set of bluetooth headphones. I haven't used a Polar-app since I started using Endomondo a couple of years ago, as I really enjoy how it's both social and generally a pretty powerful application for training. My H7 is connected as soon as I open the app as well.0

I've had my H7 for over a year and moved away from the Polar App. I sync with 'Sportstracker' and it works fine. I also used Endomondo and it worked also, but liked Sportstracker more. I'm not concerned about my HRM interacting with MFP, since I don't eat back calories. I can still see what 'estimated' calorie burn I had via Sportstracker' but it really is of no benefit to me to see it as part of my calorie tracking. And, I did have trouble connecting to the Polar app, but as long as I have a good battery, I have no issues with Sportstracker (or endomondo when I used it)0

I believe there's a conflict between the Flex and the H7 and this is causing the H7 to drop off. At least that was my experience. I've never tried syncing the H7/Polar Beat to MFP, but did not think this was possible.
I use the Flex to track sleep and general day to day, but take this off when I run long cardio and switch to the H7. I don't use it to track calories, but more to track cardio performance gains.0 -
Thank you everybody for your responses, they've given me a lot to think about!
I shall definitely have to explore further my HRM options.0
