Treadmill or Elliptical?

I'd like some suggestions on the best cardio machine for burning a high number of calories. The two I've used the most are the elliptical and treadmill, but suggestions for other machines are welcome! :)

I use both. I warm up with the eliptical for a half hour and then power walk uphill on a treadmill. I love them both!!! enjoy

I don't know that it much matters. You can adjust intensity with either. I have some joint issues, so I find it's easier to increase intensity on the elliptical for me. Someone with balance issues might prefer the treadmill.

It depends on what works best for you. I personally feel the treadmill works better and always feel like I've gotten a better workout when I run or walk on the treadmill. However, the elliptical can be great if you can't tolerate the pounding of running on the treadmill or on the days that you are feeling a little achy.

The stairstepper and rowing machine are also great alternatives that provide decreased impact on the joints. Hope this helps!

I do both - warming up on the elliptical as I have knee issues. I do a targeted lifting or core session in between and finish up with a 30 min session running/treadmill.
