Second try: Steady remedies for loss of drive?

So, I've had my share of ups and downs throughout my weight loss journey.

About four years ago, I hit my highest weight of about 150+ lbs (I'm only 5 feet, mind you) until I finally realized I needed to change my life around. So, I changed my diet (cut out sugar, fast food, ate smaller portions, etc.) and began working out. I lost 30+ lbs within the following year or so. I had another 15-20 lbs left to lose until I got overwhelmed by school, stress, and negativity/lack of support I was experiencing from select individuals in my life. In response to that, I slowly lost what was once a passionate drive and motivation to achieve my weight loss goals. After regaining 10+ lbs that I once lost, I now have very little enthusiasm to workout regularly (I try working out, of course, but tend to just give up after a few days until I try again days after that) and I've also been tempted by unhealthy foods much easily than I ever was before. It's an exhausting cycle when you desperately want to get your dream body but that internal passion comes and goes irregularly.

It's also aggravating to realize that you had significant fallbacks when you achieved so much at one point.

Any advice for regaining and maintaining that motivation during the second time around?

    Do it for yourself. If people are negative, don't bring it up to them anymore. If they bring it up to you in a negative manner, politely explain to them you would like to live a long, healthy and pain free life. Think of every bite in the manner of: is this detrimental to my new eating habits? If I eat this will I have to workout for an extra hour tonight? Just make choices that fit the life you want to live. Soon they'll become habits and the negativity will stop when they see you're sticking thru it! Best of luck! ☺️

    Slow and steady and small changes! Try to adopt a plan that you genuinely feel like you could manage for the rest of your life without feeling deprived so that you don't have to rely on the fleeting feeling of motivation.

    You guys are definitely right. I guess for me it's difficult cause I had this natural passion and now it takes so energy to get it going. I guess it's a matter of discipline as well. Just gotta think of the long term benefits I suppose :)

    And jenkorp72, I've unfortunately met too many negative ppl throughout my life. But it's certainly time to restrict their negativity from influencing my choices.
