Ok so first thing, I bought a Fitbit flex off of a lady and I got home and set my account up and it connected to the flex. But before I even wore it, it said I walked 700 feet or something like that and it shows the exact same calorie burn for the last year? So my question is how do I clear it all out and start over? I'm so confused:/ it shows my info on MFP on my Fitbit but why would it show steps of i didn't wear it. So frustrating!!

Contact Fitbit customer service and they can guide you through what you need to do. I have found them extremely helpful.0

Have you tried restarting it? http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/How-do-I-restart-my-tracker

I don't remember whether my Fitbit showed my BMR for the days before I got it, but that looks like what you're seeing.
Your Fitbit is attempting to estimate your TDEE. So, it takes your BMR (based on the data you input - age, sex, weight, height) and then adds extra calories for the steps it sees. Heavier steps will count for more calories than lighter steps - it isn't a simple pedometer.
The steps and distance you saw today when you activated it was what the device has seen since midnight. Generally, you shouldn't worry about what you see from it the first day you wear it. It's a partial day with random data from earlier in the day. Tomorrow you can start believing it.
I would recommend that you join the MFP Fitbit User's Group and read the FAQ that is found in the stickies there. Here's a link:

It's long, but it has lots of good information, including answers to question you don't even know you have.
Edit: Okay, I was able to go back and review my Fitbit log from before I got it. Yes, it shows my BMR as "Calories Burned" for the days before I got it.0 -
^Yup, that. It's showing what you burn if you do nothing all day.0

Thanks guys. I went and bought a brand new one and made a whole new email account and username. It still showed I burned 1356 at 900 steps when I didn't even have it on except for few minutes other then driving. I'm going to start fresh tomorrow and continue research. I think once I get use to it I'll be good. ( I hope)0

Your Fitbit burn is TDEE (aka your maintenance calories). When you set it up, it guesstimates your burn since midnight.
You can learn more in the Fitbit Users group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users0 -
Fitbits are just as much one's TDEE as MFP's numbers are once exercise are added. They all depend on accurate logging, proper setup, and acting within the system's design since they all use approximations and formulae based on generalities.0
