I think my boobs are too big for yoga.

Im new to yoga and it seems with certain positions the girls are in the way. Not sure if im doing it incorrectly or wearing the wrong thing but this is a problem. Am i the only one? Any idea would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I am 37 D... Before 42 D.. they shrunk because I quit sugar.. try that for a few months.0

Which poses?
Yoga is about your body, not anyone else's body, or perfect shapes. Everyone making the same pose will look different, and sometimes you need to do things very differently. It may just be a matter of finding modifications that work for you.
For example, I feel better with wide knees during child's pose, so I usually do that, regardless of what the instructor is doing. I think it is called "wide legged child's pose" and makes more room for the chest / doesn't squish the belly against the thighs.0 -
Really good sports bra otherwise there isn't much you can do unless you are one of the lucky ones that lose weight there in which case I envy you0

Do you have a really good sports bra? As you lose weight, your breast size will go down as well.
FYI, breast size has nothing to do with sugar, it's just one of the places your body stores fat.0 -

My guess would be she's getting smothered by them during downward dog, lol. I know the feeling.
If it's just awkward, then I would suggest just continuing on and you'll get used to it. If it's genuinely inhibiting your movement, you might look at some heavy duty sports bras or even binding them with an ace bandage.0 -

34DD here, I feel ya. Short of finding a non-existent miracle sports bra, your only real option is to modify your poses and breathe through it0

LOL, i know what you mean: I also have a pair of watermelons smuggled under my top (34G) and the sisters can get in the way a little BUT i find with the right sports-bra and firm fitting top everything is held in nicely and i can get in any position necessary (ahem!).
I like to wear a sports vest with an integral crop-top for extra support or just a firm-hold tight fitting sports vest for plenty of extra hold, always worn over good fitting sports bra (i tend to go very slightly on the small side so my puppies are held firmly against my chest with no jiggle). I also wear my regular underwired bra under my sports bra a lot of the time as i feel so much better supported with proper underwiring due to my large cupsize, but i know many wouldnt choose to do this. I've also been known to wear an extra croptop over my sportsbra and under my tight sports vest to hold me in even more if im going to be bouncing, jumping, running or bending over a lot.
Basically its all about the support. A snug fit is your friend. Once my girls are strapped down and held in nice & tightly they dont get in the way at all.

A good sports bra is a must. For we larger gals it can be really hard to find a good one. I have never found an off the rack bra that fit, was supportive and comfortable. I've found that Enell beats the rest both in support and fit as well as being very comfortable once you get use to being VERY supported.0

It happens sometimes. You can try talking to the teacher about modifications and alternate poses, they might have some good ones. Personally, I never really got into yoga classes because at a 32H and not being very tall there are a lot of poses I end up having to radically change to take a class, since no amount of compression gets them far enough out of the way, and mostly I end up feeling like I can't breathe because my bra is so tight. I do some yoga at home to help stretch out, but it's a funny routine I cobbled together of poses that work well for me.0

I wear a regular wired bra underneath everything then put a sports bra over that, then my tshirt. It provides extra support and keeps everything in place!0

Calorie deficit equals weight loss. I've eaten candy, cake, whatever I wanted everyday and lost all my weight just fine. Portion control and moderation works for me. Deprivation, not so much. Sugar isn't the enemy, eating at a surplus causes weight gain not sugar. Eating at a deficit causes weight loss.0 -

I agree with using the Enell bras! They are pricey, but definitely worth it. I am a 42G right now and I wear them for yoga and running. There are a few poses that the girls are in the way, especially a forward fold while seated (feel like the girls are trying to smother me), but I try to do the pose the best that I can to get a good stretch. I enjoy yoga and since they aren't in the way the entire time (during downward dog, warrior poses, or chair pose for example), I will stick with it and hope they magically shrink over time!

I can understand this my solution is a good sports bra. I put a sports bra over a regular bra to keep them in place. This stop the possible suffocation during downward dog. hope this helps.0

Yoga is for every body. My suggestion is invest in good underthings and talk to the teacher about modifications.
And learn what poses work for you

I'm a 34DD and I don't have an issue with yoga. Running, on the other hand...not even regular bra plus sports bra helps. I haven't been running as a result, I get really self-conscious in public.0

Like most here I can not emphasis 2 things enough.
1) Invest in a good quality sports bra and yes be prepared to spend some $$ for it but it is so worth it and
2) yoga is for everyone! Modifications are made all the time and a good instructor should be mentioning them in class. If not trust yourself! One yoga teacher said rather wisely that you and your body (not your mind/ego so much) know what you are capable of. Find intuiative modifications and as long as you are still strong and aligned it works for you. Periodically try the poses again unmodified to see if you can do them. I can't plough properly to save my life as my breasts and belly just smother me but I keep trying and I'm making teeny tiny improvements.0 -

I am a 32DD I have a sports bra from victoria secret and I dont have any problems with yoga. I have a few sports bras 32D they are tighter and hold them in place better going done a cup size.0
