i am so confused i understand that you have to eat under your calorie requirements to loose fat and too be able tos ee muscle but can you still build muscle whilst under eating?> if i over eat and only do lifting once/ twice a week as well as quite a bit of cardio will i still build muscle or am i just going to get fat? also i try to eat low carb and higher protein but im nto sure it is working/ making a difference. My stomach sticks out as if ive eaten a balloon some days even though when i lean oevr it barely ripples so it cant be that much fat/ excess skin and i do do ab work but you cant see my abs that much. I'm about 5 ft 4/5 and weight around 115lbs, i had to put on weight as i weighed around 96lbs and this wasnt healthy. Any help would be so useful i am so confused as to what percentages and amounts i should eat and im so worried im doing the wrong stomach exercises.

At the top of this sub-forum is a sticky about bulking.
Give it a good read and post back here about anything you don't understand and I'm sure we'll fill in the blanks for you.0 -
1. read the sticky
2. accept that if you bulk you are going to gain fat. There is no way around that.
3. You will not get "bulky" woman don't have enough testosterone @sardelsa come in here and set OP straight..
4. It sounds like you may have an eating disorder and/or body dysmorphia < have your sought help for this? If no, then I suggest you do.
5. look into a strength training program like strong lifts, staring strength, or new rules of lifting for woman
6. you need to eat big and lift big and you will get bigger, stronger, and look better.0 -

Pretty much all of this. Bulking isn't just a physical battle with yourself, it's also a mental battle with yourself.0 -
Hi OP. Definitely listen to @ndj1979 's advice.
Don't be afraid of carbs, they are your best friend when bulking. Also bloating is normal and will come and go.. more food + more carbs = bloat for most people. Ab work is fine for core strength, but it is the main lifts that will build those ab muscles on a bulk (I hardly do any ab work).
Here is my bulking blog for reference: https://sardelsa.wordpress.com/
Good luck.
