Diet Soda...zero calories, zero damage?

I admit I used to be a diet coke addict. From the time I woke up in the morning to the time my head hit the pillow at night, I had a diet coke in my hand. Most days, I'd drink between 10-12 cans. My thought was zero calories…zero damage.

In my quest to not only lose some pounds but to get fit and healthy, I gave up diet soda. The first two to three weeks were pure hell. I hated the taste of water, I needed the continual caffeine. I had a headache constantly and I was soooooooo tired. But now two months later, I've noticed that without all that diet soda in my system, I awaken more alive and refreshed in the mornings, my skin is smoother and softer since it's more hydrated, but more importantly - I'm not as hungry as I was when I constantly had all that soda going into my system and the weight is coming off a bit quicker.

I love this new healthy lifestyle!

Good for you. As for me, you'll have to pry the Diet Mtn Dew can from my cold, dead hands...

Great job chick! I've recently given up diet soda too. I have one EVERY now and then, but that's it. Even got a water purifier for the house. Makes me feel so good now....I've found that I wake up easier and go to sleep better, also! and it's only been 2 weeks... Keep up the good work, you're an inspiration!!!

That is amazing. I have been trying for a while to get my dad to stop drinking coke. He drinks usually between 3 or 4 cans a day, sometimes less sometimes more. He hardly ever drinks water. So i know that was hard. Great job. I personally gave up soda about a year ago...didn't drink it that often to begin with so it was a little bit easier but i did have my days. I do still drink it but usually only once or twice a month.

i am so proud of you! I have friends who are so addicted to pop that it's like they are popaholics, I know from them that it's a really hard thing to give up!! Good job!!

    Congratulations!!

I'm a recovering addict also. I used to believe that I was doing something good for my body by choosing diet coke over full sugar coke to which I was also addicted through my teens & early twenties. It did nothing for me except for making me crave sweet sugary foods every night & corroding my teeth thanks to the high acidity levels.

Kicking the habbit was extremely tough! But totally worth it!
    Super happy for you!!

    xx
