Looking for friends who are now trying to bulk after a major weight loss

Hi!

After losing almost 70 pounds over the past from last october to february of this year, and lowering my body fat percentage from 20 to 12% over the past 3 months (before that, who knows how it was), I'm ready to start bulking.

That being said, as any former obese person knows, it's not easy to overcome the fear of getting fat again when trying to gain lean mass (Also known as the Former Fat Boy/Girl Syndrome), so I'd like to connect with people in the same sittuation as I am.

Anybody out there? :smiley:

    I wasn't anywhere near the amount of weight you lost. I went from 185lbs to 150lbs in about 4 months. I made it a point to see if and how long I could maintain an eating lifestyle. In the past 5 years, I never went past 155lbs. I've been trying to gain weight for 6 months now and I'm struggling at 2400 calories.

    I would suggest trying to maintain your current weight for another 3-6 months to make sure your body has adapted to your weight loss. 3 months isn't a lot of time to be at a low body weight.

    Currently I'm in the same situation facing former fat boy syndrome. I've reach 12% body fat from 38 inches jeans size to 29 inches with 6 pack abs. I'm very afraid of losing my 6pack abs. Now I'm consuming 2800 calories, 220 protein daily from clean food for two months but the scale just doesn't show any increasement. Am i doing it right?

    I lost over 80 lbs and decided to try and add mass. I completed 2 rounds of Body Beast and added good size but couldn't get over the not wanting to be big feeling. I really enjoyed the heavy lifting but decided its just not for me. At this point in my journey I prefer long lean functional muscles. I am enjoying running 5Ks, 10Ks and obstacle course races.

    My weight has maintained (no more than 5lbs variation) over the past 3 months. The only thing that has changed was my bf % (from 20 to 12), because of the gym. Now that I'm comfortable about maintaining weight, I'm ready to bulk up!

    If you aren't gaining any weight, up your calories! I think your protein intake is more than enough. I'm eating around 150-180g of protein per day and weight 195lbs currently. Sadly, because of my height, body type and etc, I'm not even near showing 6 pack. Most of my bf is concentrated on my belly (wich is still with a lot of lose skin, after such weight loss). Half the reason I'm bulking up is to reduce the amount of lose skin :smile:

    I'm down 110 pounds. As far as I can tell, I'm just on the cusp of a BF% that's reasonable for bulking. I've started adding calories to try to figure out maintenance. I'm planning to begin eating a bit above maintenance in the next month or so and then go to a four-day upper/lower split at the beginning of August.
